At the edge, the assumptions that hold in the data center fall apart. Bandwidth is scarce, transport is intermittent, and the environment gets a vote — weather, terrain, jamming, or a grid that no longer exists. Enterprise gear assumes the link comes back. The mission can't afford to.

ETHRX engineers communications that treat disconnection as a normal operating state. Transport diversity is the baseline: LEO/GEO satellite, cellular, and line-of-sight radio bonded into redundant uplinks that fail over automatically, with HALO long-range mesh carrying the network where no carrier reaches. Kits deploy in minutes by the people who carry them — not the people who built them. And when every transport drops, the network stores, forwards, and resynchronizes instead of losing the mission's data.

Every design is proven under impairment before it deploys — we author the degraded-network scenarios ourselves and test against them with CHAOS, our own WAN-emulation appliance. What ships is documented, rehearsed, and built by operators who have run communications where failure had national consequences.
